Chillicothe’s newest fire truck has arrived and over the next several days, the crews will be training and becoming familiar with the truck that is not only a ladder but is also a pumper. Fire Chief Eric Reeter says the new truck cost just over $878,000 and took more than a year to construct. Rosenbauer is the company that built the truck and Reeter says they are also providing the training.
He says in addition to the training at the station, the crews will go down to the Fire Training Center and work with the new CAF system that utilizes foam to fight fires..
After the training is complete, there are still some of the tools they will need to add to the truck. Some are new and others are moved from the pumper that will be taken out of service.
