Some of the Chillicothe baseball and softball fields will be quiet this summer.
Mudcats General Manager Doug Doughty stated there would be no Mudcats Baseball this summer.
Doughty said even Major League Baseball is having a tough time. He says with out of town and out of state players staying in Chillicothe would be sharing helmets, bats, baseballs and riding on a crowded bus, putting each other and their host families at risk.
KCHI has learned that there will be no Summer Playground Association Softball or Baseball this season.
SPA Board Member Stephanie Baldwin stated the 2020 S.P.A. season has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. She stated that while this was not an easy decision, it is felt the decision is in the best interest of players, coaches, umpires and spectators. KCHI has also learned that American Legion baseball has been cancelled.
