The 2020 Spring Turkey Season in Missouri has come to a close, with harvest number up across the state. The Missouri Department of Conservation says a total of 41,454 birds were harvested this year. That includes 38,730 in the regular season and 2,724 in the youth season.
MDC says those numbers are up from last year. In 2019, the youth season harvest totaled 2,546 and the regular-season total was 36,249.
The MDC reports the nonresident permit sales were down this year due to COVID-19, but there were about 9,600 more turkey hunters than last year based on the permit sales.
