A Trenton teen was seriously injured as he attempted to climb into the back of a pick-up while it was moving. The 16-year-old was flown to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City following the accident Sunday evening in Trenton. According to the Highway Patrol, the teen was a passenger in a pick-up driven by 17-year-old Alan Airey of Trenton. Airey was westbound on 28th Street near Princeton Road when his passenger attempted to climb out the passenger side window and into the bed of the pick-up. He lost his footing and fell to the roadway.
