Area law enforcement served 34 arrest warrants for combined 40 felony counts on a total of 28 defendants from drug and other cases investigated in Chillicothe and rural Livingston County. Beginning early Friday morning, officers from several departments started with the arrest of 21 people on Livingston County warrants for alleged 31 total felony violations. The case files were reviewed by the Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney and charges came from Livingston County Associate Circuit Court.
The joint press release from the Chillicothe Police Department and Livingston County Sheriff’s Department indicates seizure of alleged methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription medication, and drug paraphernalia. Officers also seized firearms, distribution equipment, and evidence of distribution.
Sheriff Steve Cox says forty officers from the Chillicothe Police, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri Probation and Parole office, N.I.T.R.O. ATF Task Force and the Missouri Fire Marshall’s Office worked together on the operation.
The City and County departments had this enforcement scheduled for earlier this year when most of the drug-related warrants were to be served and it had to be postponed due to Covid-19 and health concerns at that time.
