State Troopers report one accident and one arrest for the area counties.
A single-vehicle accident in Sullivan County left three Kirksville residents injured Friday morning. State Troopers report the accident happened about 5:25 am on Highway 6, near Green Castle, when 27-year-old Shadrack Kikita was westbound and swerved to avoid a deer and ran off the left side of the roadway and his vehicle overturned. Kikita had minor injures and two passengers had moderate injuries. All three were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
A Chillicothe man was arrested by State Troopers early Saturday morning in Livingston County. At about 2:50 am, Troopers arrested 36-year-old Christopher Burton of Chillicothe for alleged DWI with drugs and failing to properly attach a license plate to a vehicle. He was processed and released.
