With warm temperatures here outdoors, it is time to be on the look out for pets and young or elderly people that may be inside a locked car in a parking lot. Chillicothe Police Chief John Maples says it is much hotter inside the car that outside.
He says his Department receives more calls on animals in hot cars than humans. He says often people will make a quick run into the store but then become distracted by others inside the store and lose track of time.
He says if you see a pet or a person in a hot car, call the police immediately.
Maples’ comments were made on a recent edition of Cop Talk on KCHI.
