The Chillicothe Police Department investigated several reports of theft from Vehicles Friday.
6:20 am, Officer out in the 1300 block of Calhoun Street. Reported theft from a car overnight.
6:47 am, Officers out in the 1000 block of Graves Street checking on a suspicious abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
6:57 am, Officers checked on a car having possibly been broken into in the 1100 block of Calhoun Street. No report at this time.
9:23 am, Officers recovered a black back-pack and contents in the 1500 block of Calhoun Street.
11:51 am, Officer located a purse in the 400 block of Monroe Street and its contents were strewn about. Purse was brought to the PD to be claimed by the owner.
12:17 pm, Officers out in the 1100 block of Calhoun Street. Vehicle was broken into.
12:18 pm, Officers out in the 900 block of Vine Street. Vehicle was broken into.
1:27 pm, Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Graves Street in reference to three children left unattended in a vehicle. As officers and deputies responded, the mother arrived at the vehicle from shopping. Children’s Division was contacted and information will be sent to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charges.
3:37 pm, Officers responded to the intersection of Washington Street and Ann Street for a two-vehicle crash. Both vehicles were driven from the scene with minor damage. One driver was cited for following too close.
10:57 pm, Officer made contact with a subject in the 600 block of W. Business 36 that she was attempting to locate in reference to a previously reported theft. The previously reported stolen item was recovered and the subject was transported to the PD, processed for the theft, cited and released.
