A single-vehicle accident in Trenton left two teens injured Friday afternoon. State Troopers in Grundy County report the accident happened about 3:45 pm on 22nd Street, a half-mile north of Trenton as an SUV driven by a 16-year-old girl was southbound and ran off the road. According to the report, the driver was distracted by a dog in the road and lost control. She ran off the road, struck the ditch and ran into a cornfield.
The driver had moderate injuries and her 14-year-old sister had minor injuries. They were taken to Wright Memorial Hospital for treatment. Two other passengers in the vehicle, a 13- and 14-year-old, were not injured. They were all wearing safety belts.
