The Trenton City Council met Monday with several items on their agenda. Council Member Glen Briggs says the council voted to have city administrator Ron Urton form a committee to meet with Grundy County and Trenton Township to address issues common to all of us. The Mayor is concerned that the city is not getting it’s fair share of services/money from the other entities.
The council also voted to approve having Burns and McDonald draw up plans for the headworks project at the sewer plant. Briggs says “Like it or not, it is a project that we either do now for a modest cost, or we do later for a whole bunch more.”
A public hearing was held on the city’s tax rate. There were no comments from the public and the rate of 1.0699 per $100 valuation was approved unanimously.
The council also approved the conditional use permit for the business at 1242 Tinsman to be converted to a residential property.
