Several injury accidents in the KCHI listening area over the weekend were investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on a Carroll County rural road on Sunday just after 1:00 am.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a UTV driven by Niklas Scott, 18 of Norborne struck a stationary Jeep head-on.
All three occupants of the UTV were ejected. Christian Coats, age 20, of Norborne and a 16-year-old juvenile whose name was not released both suffered serious injuries and were taken to at Carrollton hospital. The driver, Scott of Norborne, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital in Richmond. He was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for alleged for Driving While Intoxicated and was released.
One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident in Daviess County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says at 10:35 Sunday Morning a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Dariyn Pettit of Gallatin swerved to miss a deer on Route V, six mines south of Jamesport. She overcorrected, went off the south side of the road, and overturned. Petit was taken by Lifeflight Eagle to Truman Medical Center with minor injuries, according to the Highway Patrol.
One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Linn County Saturday Night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Cody Lane of Browning ran off of Elk Road one mile west of Browning and hit a creek bank. Lane was taken by air evac to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
The Highway Patrol was assisted by Fire Departments from Browning, Milan, Brookfield, and the Linn County Sheriff’s Department.
One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Kingston. On Saturday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a car driven by 37-year-old Phillip T. Joyce of Cameron failed to stop at a stop sign and ran into the path of a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Trevor Lee also of Cameron. Injured was a passenger in the Joyce Vehicle, 70-year-old Connie McCleary of Breckenridge with moderate injuries. He was taken to a Cameron hospital by ambulance.
Two out of state residents found out the hazards of Deer in Missouri the hard way. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a car driven by 68-year-old Dennis Hess of Grants Pass, Oregon was on US 65, eight miles south of Trenton when his car struck a deer. Injured was Hess and 73-year-old Rebecca Hess also of Grants Pass, Oregon, both with minor injuries. Dennis was treated at the scene and Rebecca was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton by private vehicle.
