The Livingston County Humane Society and Lesley Patek is reminding everyone to review the city and county ordinances related to animals and hot weather.
Patek reminds pet owners there is no tolerance for these situations.
Chillicothe Police Officer Jeremiah Grider agrees that you must have certain items available for your outdoor pet in hot weather.
He says it is important not to leave pets inside vehicles.
If you spot a pet locked up in a car, it is suggested to call your local police department immediately.
