The Personal Property and Real Estate Tax Rate paid to Livingston County will decrease in 2021. Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas says the County is supported primarily by sales tax.
Douglas says with the rate of .0406, and a $100,000 home, the tax paid to the county at the beginning of this year was about $7.71. Under the new rate of .0269, that will drop at the start of 2021 to $5.11.
The County Commission also approved continuing the rate of .0510 per $100 valuation for the Senior Citizen Fund.
