Several staff members of the Trenton R-9 School district were recently exposed to one or more individuals that have tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, Superintendent Mike Stegman says several staff members are under quarantine for 14 days. Stegman says they’ve had one person know to have tested positive on their campus. Some of the staff under quarantine may have also been exposed by another source. Those exposed were wearing masks at the time of exposure.
He says the staff members should be off the quarantine at the first of September. The district is looking for substitute teachers to fill in for those that will be out due to the quarantine.
Stegman says teachers are not listed as essential employees in Missouri. If Missouri Teachers were listed as essential employees, they would be able to work despite the exposure to the positive case.
