The Livingston County Health Center warns of possible COVID-19 exposure at two area churches this past Sunday, August 23rd. The health center has confirmed a person who tested positive for COVID-19 attended services at St. Columban Catholic Church in Chillicothe and another that had tested positive attended Turning Point Church on the same date.
The health center is urging anyone who attended those services to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 and do your best to stay isolated from other people for 14 days. If you have symptoms and get tested, please isolate from that point forward, as testing results can take five days or more to come back.
The Livingston County Health Center reminds us COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization. Most common symptoms include: fever; dry cough; tiredness; aches and pains; sore throat; diarrhea; conjunctivitis; headache, loss of taste or smell, a rash on the skin, or discoloration of fingers or toes, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath; chest pain or pressure; loss of speech or movement.
On average it takes 5 – 6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for symptoms to show, however it can take up to 14 days. Testing results can take up to a week, so if you are experiencing symptoms and get tested, please isolate yourself beginning when you take the test.
