The next phase of the bridge deck replacement near Chillicothe has brought a traffic switch.
Work on the southbound half of the Grand River Bridge on Highway 65 at Chillicothe is finished and traffic was scheduled to switch over the weekend, allowing contractors to work on the northbound half of the bridge.
Construction will still allow one lane of traffic over the bridge with an 11.5-foot width restriction. Motorists are advised to pay attention, use caution, and follow all construction signs and traffic control.
The contractors plan to have the bridge open to two-way traffic in early December, weather permitting. Work on the project began in early March.
