Chillicothe’s lower ranked tennis players played a key part in helping the Lady Hornets win the District Team Tennis Championship for the second year in a row and the 16th title overall.
#5 Singles Rylee Washburn and #6 Singles Olivia Anderson both won their singles matches, then teamed up to win the doubles match and account for three of the needed five wins for the title.
Chillicothe beat Trenton for the district crown 5 to 4. In singles matches Delaney May lost to Lexi Gott 2-6, 0-6. Cami Carpenter beat Morgan Dolan
6-1, 6-0. Megan Sisson lost to Mallory Sole 5-7, 6-4, 2-6. Leah Lourenco beat Alaina Overton 6-4, 6-3. Rylee Washburn won over Emilee Lovell 6-4, 6-3 and Olivia Anderson beat Lydia Leininger 6-1, 2-6, 6-2.
In Doubles, May and Sisson lost to Gott and Dolan 0-8, Carpenter and Lourenco lost to Sole and Overton 7-9 and Washburn and Anderson beat Lovell and Leininger 8-3. CHS
