The Chillicothe R-II School board discussed placing a Levy increase on the ballot in 2021. Superintendent Dan Wiebers says the committee proposed a levy of 40 cents per $100 valuation for the capital projects fund.
Wiebers talked about how the funds generated would be used by the district.
He says the funds could not be used for things like paying off debt.
He says this levy could be placed on the ballot in August of 2021. The 40 cents would have a sunset of 10 years. The current 12 cent levy would be allowed to sunset in 2023.
