The Festival of Lights opening ceremony on Saturday was postponed due to rain. Organizer Barb Burton announced it has been rescheduled for Wednesday. Simpson Park will be closed to traffic from 5:00 to 7:00 pm to allow the public to enjoy the ceremony and the park. The ceremony will start at 5:30 and while Santa will not be there in person, he will have a special message for the children. Santa will also lead the countdown to the lighting of the park.
Children are encouraged to bring their letters to Santaa and drop them in the Festival of Lights donation box so he can retrieve them in time for Christmas.
