The Chillicothe Lady Hornets basketball team made the first basket of the game and never trailed in a 48-24 win at Penney of Hamilton.
Chillicothe led 12-8 after one and 19-13 at the half.
Chillicothe Coach Darren Smith was pleased with this first game of the season but said there are still decisions to be made.
Chillicothe was led by Essie Hicks with 14, Brooke Horton with 10, Jessica Reeter with 6, Jolie Bonderer with 5, Lucy Reeter with 4, Selby Miller with 3, Kinlei Boley with 2, Kayanna Cranmer and Sophia Luetticke each with 1 and playing time for Clara Leamer, Bre Pithan and Cali Burkhardt.
Hamilton had 12 from Brighton Swindler with 12, Julia Kanoy and Somers Finch with 5 each, Anisten Houghton with 2 and playing time for Lakelyn Shatto, Mary Brown, Olivia Edwards and Madi Allen.
