The Chillicothe Boys Basketball team scored the first basket of their game against Kearney last night in the Savannah Tournament. Unfortunately that would be their only lead in a 61-44 loss to Kearney.
The Bulldogs answered those first points with a 13-0 run and led the rest of the game. Chillicothe battled back at times but could never regain the lead.
Hornets Coach Tim Cool said he saw some good things from his players.
Chillicothe was led by Wyatt Brandsgaard with 16 points, Griff Bonderer with 12, Cayden Potter with 8, Hayden Simmer with 4, Mason Baxter and James Mathew each with 2 and playing time for Landon Winder and Eli Cross.
Chillicothe faces Smithville in the consolation semi-final on Thursday at 4:00pm. Smithville lost to St Joseph Benton 62-59.
