Four nurses from Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton and Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe were recognized this week with the DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses. The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care nurses provide every day. The award was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died from complications of the auto-immune disease Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP) at age 33.
The winners of the DAISY award are Jordain Oshel, Wright Memorial Hospital Medical-Surgical, Hailey Smith, Wright Memorial Hospital Medical-Surgical, Brooke Ruoff, Hedrick Medical Center OBGYN Physician Practice, and Ashley Ewing Hedrick Medical Center/Wright Memorial Hospital Oncology Nurse Navigator.
