The deadline for paying your county Real Estate and Personnel Property Taxes is December 31st. Collector Treasurer Paula McCoy says the payments are a bit behind a normal year.
McCoy says they are NOT allowing payments in their office due to COVID-19, but they have three ways you can pay. The first is the dropbox on the north side of the courthouse.
If you miss the dropbox, you will need to have the payment mailed and postmarked on the 31st to be on time.
McCoy also reminds those with Real Estate Taxes paid by escrow to verify those payments have been made. Contact your lender or check online. Ultimately the property owner is responsible for the payment and any penalties.
