The final Chillicothe High School Sporting Event of 2020 is going on today. The Chillicothe Hornets wrestling team is in Moberly, participating in the Moberly Duals tournament. The normally two-day event was shortened to just today due to teams dropping out. The Chillicothe lady Hornets JV and Varsity basketball games this afternoon at Columbia Hickman were postponed. A make-up date is still in the works.
Normally Chillicothe basketball teams participate in the North Central Missouri College Holiday Hoops, but that event that includes around 100 teams was cancelled earlier this school year due to Covid concerns.
The Boys basketball team normally plays in the Bishop LeBlond Holiday Hoops, but withdrew this year in favor of the Lawson Tournament in January.
Chillicothe’s next varsity sporting event will be a girls and boys basketball doubleheader at Lawson high school on January 5th.
