A Fire Truck that has been on loan to the Grand River Historical Museum will be returning to the Chillicothe Fire Station. The museum had requested the city either donate the Fire Truck to the Museum or remove it from their care. The Fire Truck, a 1955 LaFrance open cab, has been stored and displayed by the museum since 2013.
The request was made by the Museum Director after issues of notification of use and access to the property.
City Administrator Darin Chappell says Fire Chief Eric Reeter wants the department to retain ownership of the truck.
Chappell says he will contact the Museum and they will arrange to pick-up the truck. It will be stored and maintained at the Fire Department.
