The first reading of the Livingston County Budget was held Tuesday morning. The budget developed by the County Commission and Budget Officer Sherry Parks includes a carryover from 2020 of $3.5 million, revenues of $8.4 million, and expenditures of $9.49 million.
Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas says this is a conservative budget.
Douglas says the reserves are important.
The County will add more than $250,000 to their Sales Tax Reserve, bringing that balance to $1,4 million. They also expect to carry forward another million.
The Livingston County 2021 Budget Document is available for review by the public in the County Clerk’s office until the time of the second Budget Hearing on January 29th at 10:00 am. During that time there may also be minor adjustments made to the budget before approval.
