A woman was shot in Polo Wednesday morning and later died of her injuries. The Caldwell County Sheriff’s office says a man was arrested following a lengthy manhunt. Deputies received the call about the shooting at about 10:10 am. The initial call was for shots fired at an intersection in Polo. They arrived to find a woman had been shot and witnesses reported a man armed with a weapon ran into a wooded area.
After a lengthy manhunt that included the sheriff’s office, Highway Patrol, Polo Police, Clinton county Deputies, The Tri-County Swat Team, Canadian Pacific Railroad Police, and the Missouri Department of Conservation, the 35-year-old Lawson man was taken into custody without incident.
The woman was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
