Despite periods of rain around much of the KCHI listening area in the past week, Extreme and Exceptional Drought conditions continue for nearly all of the KCHI listening area. National Weather Service Meteorologist Pamela Pietrycha says the drought conditions will persist. She says in the near future it will be much of the same weather pattern we’ve seen over the past several weeks.
Pietrycha says the rain we have received and that in the forecast is helping for the short term.
Burn bans remain in place is many of the area counties, but even where burn bans have been lifted, she advises using caution with any outdoor burning.
