The request by CMU Electric Services Department Director Matt Hopper presented the bid for the replacement of the Automated Meter Reading systems for Water and Electric. Hopper says they received four bids for the project.
The $1.9 million was not the lowest bid, but the maintenance contract was about 1/3 the cost of the other systems.
Hopper says they will do the installation.
The vote to approve the bid was 5-0
