Allocating 1% Of Sales Tax Funds

The allocation of one percent of the City of Chillicothe’s Sales Tax revenue was approved at this week’s City Council Meeting.  City Administrator Darin Chappell says this year that money will go into the general fund.

Chappell says restricted funds can only be used for one purpose.

He says once the money is allocated to a specific fund, if the city needs that money in another area, they must borrow the money from the specific fund and it must be repaid, with interest.
