A father and son from the St. Louis area died in a plane crash near Galt Tuesday. The Grundy County Sheriff’s Department reports authorities located the wreckage Tuesday afternoon in a wooded area near Highway 6 and 139.
The single-engine Cessna went missing Monday night. Authorities confirmed the plane made a stop in Moberly, then were reportedly flying to Kirksville before the crash. The crash was more than 55 miles west of Kirksville.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash with assistance from the Grundy County Sheriff’s office.
