Wheeling Man Injured In Accident and Arrested

An accident and two arrests are in the Missouri Highway Patrol report for Wednesday.

At about 6:30 am in Linn County, a single-vehicle accident left a Wheeling man with minor injuries and arrested.  According to the report, 66-year-old Russell Richter of Wheeling was northbound on Route W, just east of Meadville, when he drove through an intersection and hit the ditch.  Richter was not wearing a safety belt and was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield for treatment of minor injuries.  He was not wearing a safety belt.

Richter was also arrested by troopers for alleged DWI with drugs and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.  He was released for treatment.

State Troopers in Daviess County arrested a Bethany man at about 2:25 pm Wednesday.  Forty-four-year-old Joseph Campbell was arrested for alleged DWI and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.  He was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.
