The Chillicothe Rural Fire District’s contract with the City of Chillicothe was renewed Monday. The contract is for the Chillicothe Fire Department to respond to fire calls in the rural area. The City of Chillicothe is paid by the Rural Fire District based on memberships, and the contract is based on a minimum of 500 memberships. City Administrator Darin Chappell explains.
The Rural Fire District will continue to seek approval to collect a tax to fund the district.
