This is Severe Weather Preparedness Week and The National Weather Service will have information about Severe Weather each day this week. Today’s Focus is on Awareness. Meteorologist Jared Leighton says awareness begins with knowing what we can expect with the day’s weather. KCHI brings you weather several times per hour and will keep you informed on what can be expected for any severe weather. But Leighton says have more than one source.
He says if weather warnings are issued we need to know what we should do.
He says to make the plan, talk with the family about the plan, and practice the plan.
Leighton says there should be a plan for at work or school and if you are unaware of any plans, talk to the management or school administration to make sure those plans are made and everyone is aware of where they need to go.
