A grass fire was reported on LIV 447 Tuesday afternoon. The call came in about 12:40 and the fire crew arrived about 10 minutes later to find a large grass fire driven by high winds. The fire crew used a brush truck and a brush UTV, leaf blowers, rakes, and about 100 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. The landowner was on the scene and was fighting the fire as well. Dawn fire supplied a brush UTV to assist.
The report states the fire appeared to be accidentally started and spread from the high wind. Approximately 30 acres of grass and timber were burned. The fire crew was on the scene for about an hour.
