Two Area Accidents Result In Serious & Moderate Injuries

Accidents in Sullivan and Daviess Counties left several with Serious and moderate injuries.

Wednesday at about 6:40 am in Daviess County, a two-vehicle accident on Highway 6, east of Gallatin left three injured.  State Troopers report 25-year-old Robert Reed of Trenton was pulling a trailer and was making a U-turn.  He stopped in the roadway for traffic and was struck by another truck pulling a trailer, driven by 77-year-old Gail Siemer of Jamesport.  Injured in the accident was a 17-year-old from Trenton, who was taken to Liberty Hospital with Serious Injuries, and 18-year-old Enoth Schrock of Jamesport, taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.  Thirty-year-old Marty Mendenhall of Trenton had moderate injuries and was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.

A Two-vehicle accident in Sullivan County Wednesday afternoon left one driver with moderate injuries.  State Troopers report the accident happened at about 3:20 pm, as 62-year-old Roxanna Carter of Humphreys was stopped on Highway 6 at the Humphreys city limits and was waiting to make a turn when she was struck from behind by a car driven by 27-year-old Monica Proctor of Trenton.  Carter was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton for treatment of moderate injuries.  Proctor was not injured.,  both drivers were wearing safety belts.
