Lawson scored eight runs in the first inning and beat Chillicothe in varsity Softball 14-4 in a five innings mercy rule win. The Lady Cardinals also scored three in the second and two in the fourth. Chillicothe scored four in the fifth and gave up one in the bottom of the fifth for the ten-runs win.
Molly Ellis and Hallie Rucker were on the mound for Chillicothe, allowing 14 runs off 16 hits with 10 earned runs, three strike outs and seven walks.
Offensively Chillicothe was led by Sophia Luetticke, Abby Jones and Brooke Horton each with two hits. Libby Adkins, Jordan Hibner, Kennedy Corzette and Micah Hibner each had one hit.
