The Chillicothe Girls Soccer team fell behind early in their season opener and lost at home to Sedalia Smith-Cotton 6 – 0.
Sedalia scored on a penalty kick in the 1st minute of the game, and scored again on a free kick in the 4th minute.
The Lady Hornets then played a stalemate the rest of the half for a Sedalia 2-0 halftime lead.
The Lady Tigers picked up the pace mid way through the second half with four goals in an 8-minute span to pull away from the Lady Hornets. Sedalia’s Adamaris Ramirez had a hat trick with three goals.
Chillicothe coach Jimmy Chapman said his team competed very hard against a very good team, and faced some adversity through players not being able to play and getting injured. Hadley Beemer was goal keeper and thrust into the starting line up a few days ago, after playing the position for just three weeks.
Sedalia also won the Junior Varsity game 7 to 0.
