Chillicothe Police Report For The Weekend

The Chillicothe Police Department responded to 149 calls for service over the weekend.  Some of the calls include:

Sunday:

12:03 AM, Officers responded to a one-vehicle accident in the 2600 block of Tomahawk Dr. The driver and occupants had fled on foot before officers arrived.  Officers observed an initial impact to the guardrail located on the east side of the street causing the front passenger tire and axle to detach from the vehicle.

2:08 PM, Officers took a report of mail being tampered with in the 1800 block of Calhoun Street.  The investigation is ongoing.

7:40 PM, Officers responded to 3rd and Washington Street for a two-vehicle accident with injuries.  An eastbound vehicle on 3rd Street struck a vehicle that pulled in front of it.  One driver was transported to Hedrick Medical Center for minor injuries, the other was cited for no insurance and failure to yield.

8:14 PM, Officers responded to the 1000 block of Graves Street for a report of a two-vehicle accident that occurred near US Hwy 65 and US Hwy 36.  A vehicle traveling south on US 65 struck a second vehicle that pulled out in front of it from the off-ramp of US 36.  One driver was cited for failure to yield.  Both vehicles sustained minor damage.  No injuries were reported.

Saturday:

12:51 am, Suspicious activity 900 block of Woodward Street.  Officers located an individual who had a warrant from another jurisdiction but due to COVID was processed and released.

1:14 am, Officers arrested a 43-year-old Chula resident on N. Washington Street near Park Lane, for Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Drive in a Single Lane. They were processed and released.

5:13 am, a traffic stop in the 1200 block of 3rd Street for an equipment violation resulted in an investigation into possible drug activity and the K9 officer was called to the scene.   The driver failed to obey a lawful order and was arrested, processed, and released.

1:37 pm, Officers arrested a 61-year-old Chillicothe resident for driving while revoked and leaving the scene of a crash in the 1000 block of Graves Street.   They were processed and released.

4:54 pm, Officers made a traffic stop at Calhoun and Washington for no registration.   A 41-year-old St. Joseph woman was arrested for Driving While Suspended.   She was cited and released.
