The Hornets baseball team had the hot bats, turning 16 hits into 8 runs to beat Bishop LeBlond 8 to 4 at Shaffer Park in Chillicothe.
LeBlond scored one in the top of the first, but the Hornets answered with two in the bottom of the first, one in the third and a big fourth inning with five runs.
LeBlond tried to battle back with one in the sixth and two in the seventh.
On the mound, Gage Leamer went 5.2 innings for the win and Griff Bonderer took the save. the two combined to allow four runs, two earned, off five hits with nine strike outs and only two walks.
At the plate for Chillicothe: Brock Miller had a triple, Brock Ward had two doubles, Gage Leamer had a double and two singles, Wyatt Brandsgaard had a double and a single, Mason Baxter, Landon Winder and Max Wagers with two singles each and one single for Griff Bonderer and Tucker Wagers.
Baxter had three stolen bases, Leamer with two and Winder with one. Baxter and Leamer both scored by stealing home in the first inning with two out.
