The Chillicothe Hornets Football Team struggles continued in the second week of the season. Chillicothe lost at Kirksville 41-0, the Hornets second shut out in as many games.
After a scoreless first quarter Kirksville scored on a 9 yard pass play and a 4 yard run in the second quarter. Then a 12 yard pass and runs of 6 and 5 yards in the third quarter
Kirksville led 34-0 heading in the final quarter when they scored on a 14 yard touchdown.
The Hornets had problems slowing down the Kirksville pinpoint passing game. Tigers Quarterback Paxton Dempsey threw 17 of 21 for 241 yards and no interceptions. They also rushed for 147 yards
Chillicothe rushed for 84 yards and passed for 10 yards. The Hornets threw three interceptions and lost two fumbles.
Chillicothe plays at Maryville on Friday, September 7th.
