The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Soccer team lost at Hannibal 3-1. Hannibal scored in the 24th and 30th minutes for a 2-0 halftime lead.
Chillicothe closed the gap with a Juliann Gabrielson goal off an Ellie Barnett assist in the 74th minute, but Hannibal scored three minutes later for the final
3-1 score.
Chillicothe’s Allie Italiano had 10 saves in the game.
Lady Hornets Coach Jimmy Chapman said he was proud of the way the girls bounced back from a solid first half marred by a few mistakes that Hannibal did well to capitalize.
Coach Chapman said his team then “played our best half of soccer all season” during the second half.
The JV Lady Hornets won 5-0 with goals from Skylar Powers, Delanie Kieffer, Ericka Kroll and two from Alice Hurtgen. Hadley Beemer had three saves for the JV Lady Hornets.
