Extensive damage to an apartment but no injuries in a Friday evening fire in Chillicothe.
According to the official report, Chillicothe firefighters answered a call at 8:12 pm to 444 Jackson street to a two-story apartment building with heavy flames and smoke coming out of a second-story apartment. All occupants were out of the building. Firefighters knocked down the fire from outside of the structure, then entered the apartment to finish the job.
The fire was contained to Apartment #3. Firemen were on the scene for two hours and used 1.500 gallons of water. The cause of the fire was not yet listed.
