The Chillicothe Hornets Baseball team finished 2nd in the Marshall Tournament. After winning their first game on Friday, the Hornets went 1-1 on Saturday.
The Hornets beat Clinton 8 to 7 in eight innings. The teams battled back and forth through six innings when Clinton scored three in the top of the seventh and Chillicothe scored one in the bottom of the seventh to tie the score seven-all.
In the bottom of the eighth Mason Baxter singled, then advanced to second on a Brock Ward single. Baxter then stole third and scored with Wyatt Brandsgaard at-bat.
In the final game, Marshall scored 14 runs on 14 hits to beat Chillicothe 14-5.
Marshall had big innings with three runs in the second, two in the fourth and sixth, and five in the seventh inning.
Chillicothe had five runs off six hits with two errors. Marshall had a home run and five doubles in their 14 hits.
