The Chillicothe Baseball team lost their second straight game in the Pony Express Tournament, falling to Maryville 10 to 6. The fifth inning was the key for Maryville. They were leading 3 to 1 when they put six runs across the plate. Chillicothe responded with five runs in the top of the sixth but Maryville scored an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth and took the win with ten runs off eight hits. The game was less than perfect. Maryville had four errors while Chillicothe had eight errors.
At the plate Chillicothe was led by Tucker Wagers with three singles, Brock Miller with a double and single, Brock Ward with two singles, Wyatt Brandsgaard with a double, and a single for Gage Leamer.
Leamer took the loss with Trent Keith in relief. The two teamed up to allow 10 runs, only two were earned runs, off 8 hits with 3 strike outs and four walks.
