The Chillicothe Hornets Golf Team won the 7-team Savannah invitational by 34 strokes. The Hornets shot a 354 with Host Savannah was second with a 388 followed by Lafayette, Mound City, Benton, Rock Port and North Harrison.
The Hornets were led by Spencer Shira who shot an 84 on the par-71 course to win medalist honors by two strokes over Jackson Trout. Fellow Hornet James Mathew shot a 91 for fourth place individually. Dalton Ripley shot a 93 and Colby Gillespie shot a 103.
Three Chillicothe Junior Varsity golfers also made the trip. Tyler Stephens shot a 95, Keagan Valbracht a 123 and Ethan Gabrielson a 129.
Chillicothe will play in the Conference Tournament on the Fairview Course in St Joseph on Monday.
