The Chillicothe City Council took action on several times from Monday’s Agenda.
The Chillicothe City Council approve the contract with Vance Brothers for the resurfacing and maintenance overlay of streets in Chillicothe. The bid was $760,515. The bid came in well under the $922,000 estimate by the engineers. City Administrator Darin Chapple talked about the bid.
The bid was approved on a 5/0 vote.
The Chillicothe Street Department will replace their street grinder with a new one. The Chillicothe City Council approved the purchase of the Cold Planer/Asphalt Miller for $18,894. Street Superintendent Jeff Gillespie explained why it is needed and how it is used.
The machine was purchased from Foley Equipment of Chillicothe.
A bid to tear down a house at 1020 Cherry Street was approved by the City Council Monday. The house is on city-owned property at the corner of Bryan and Cherry Streets. Three bids were received and the lowest bid was from Red Rock, for $7,800. The work includes the demolition and removal of the debris, clearing and leveling the lot, and seeding for grass.
The highest bid on the project was $16,800.
