A report of an SUV fire summoned Chillicothe Fire Fighters to the 400 block of Vine Street Tuesday evening. The call came in about 5:04 and the fire crew arrived in 2 minutes at 453 Vine to find the SUV fully involved, in the side yard of the home. About 2000 gallons of water and foam were used to put out the fire.
The fire crew was told by the vehicle owner that the vehicle had been smoldering and smoking for approximately 15 minutes before calling 911. The owner stated they tried to take it to a local car shop but was unable to make it. He then drove the car home smoking and parked it in the road.
The fire crew was on the scene for about 30 minutes.
