COVID Cases In Livingston Co Continue To Rise

The number of COVID-19 Cases in Livingston county to date had reached 1,874, with 122 active cases.

In the month of May, Livingston County had an increase of 286 in the number of COVID-19 positives.  The data also indicates the UK and Indian variants are hitting the younger population, especially 11-40 years old, harder than the original strains.

Recent data for Livingston County shows the fully vaccinated rate is 30.1% of the county and 34.5 percent of county residents have received at least one dose. That is up slightly from last week’s numbers of 29.6% fully immunized and 33.8% who had initiated vaccination.

Health Center Director Sherry Seldon says every little bit helps, so if you haven’t yet been vaccinated and would like to be, the health center is doing Walk-In Immunizations each Tuesday & Thursday.  The vaccines are also available at four Chillicothe pharmacies.

In addition, the Health Center has Pfizer vaccine for kids 12 and older.  They do ask you call before you come to make sure of dose availability.
