Chillicothe Police Report

Chillicothe Police responded to 106 calls for service Thursday.  Some of the calls include placing street barricades due to street flooding and responding to reports of storm problems or damages.

9:51 am, Officers took a theft report from the 400 block of Walnut Street.   An investigation is continuing.

10:49 am, Officer out in the 2600 block of N. Fair Street on a continued investigation.

1:40 pm, Officer checked on Jackson Street R/R crossing arms down and no train in sight.  Cars driving around the arms.  ..Railroad was contacted with the information.

2:12 pm, Subject in the PD to report tampering with a victim as well as harassment.   A warrant is being sought to protect the victim from harm and being harassed.

2:30 pm, Officers arrested a person on a Buchanan County Warrant.   The subject was transported to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail to await extradition.

8:57 pm, Report of fireworks being shot in the 1600 block of Bryan Street.  Officer advises nothing seen or heard.

10:15 pm, Heavy rainfall caused street flooding in low areas.  Officers patrolled areas for any stranded motorists and placed barricades at some locations.

10:22 pm, Report of two cows out near the roadway of North Washington and Coach K Road.  Officers were unable to observe the cattle.   It’s believed that these two young cattle, one black and one brown(with tag in left ear)are the same cattle that have been seen repeatedly in this area for the last week.  Property owners with cattle in this area are encouraged to check and make sure that they can account for the entirety of their herds.

10:54 pm, Officer out on Ryan Lane to remove debris from the roadway.

10:56 pm, Officer caught a dog that was running loose near the Chillicothe Correctional Center.  The dog was taken to the animal shelter.
